Owned and renovated by SouthStar, this historic building was built in 1907, and was  originally a hardware store and warehouse serving the community and the Orange and Alexandria Railroad which terminated next door. SouthStar acquired this building and has renovated existing office and retail while converting the basement area to residential apartments.

The D.P. Wood Building Wood was built in 1907 with a Decorative Vernacular style, paneled brick frieze with hound’s
tooth cornice, segmental brick arches over 2/2 windows. Built by D.P.Wood as a hardware, Lumber, and appliance store. This building is an excellent example of early 20th-century commercial architecture. This large brick building is significant to the district because of its strategic location and preserved architectural character .
SouthStar is in the process of renovating each space as tenants may turnover.
